ABOUT

After barely escaping Miami a tragic gay teen goth, Derek Marks lived in the mountains of North Carolina, Albuquerque, and Seattle until settling in New York City. While studying illustration at FIT and dabbling as a singer/synth player in a darkwave parody band, he earned his first illustration commission from Clarkson Potter. After 17 years in New York, he relocated to Michigan in 2020, where he continues to work on his comics and illustrations. His first graphic collection, “Legendary Spirits” was released in December 2021.
